Work, which was once seen only as a mean of survival and accumulation of wealth, has become one of the major dimensions of human life, causing individuals to be identified through the activities they perform. Several studies have addressed work through the senses that workers attach to the activities they perform, as is the case of the present research that investigates the sense produced by a category distant of formal professions: luxury prostitutes. To that end, the objective was to capture the subjective senses produced by luxury prostitutes about the work they do. In order to give greater clarity to the topics addressed, the theoretical reference spoke about the meanings of work and luxury prostitution. The research was classified as qualitative-descriptive and field research, consisting of a sample of five women luxury prostitutes that act in Belo Horizonte. The analysis of the results identified underlying meanings concerning the practice of luxury prostitution. We also observed that some participants understand their work as a fanciful experience, which allows them to construct different identities, since clients idealize the prostitute as the perfect female figure they would like to have by their side, forgetting that the purpose of the relationship is merely economic. In addition, we found that prostitution influences other spaces of action of the professionals, being the familiar, sentimental and social spaces the most affected.
