Abstract

In this paper, we propose the estimation of the electrical power that is possible generate using as primary source the energy from solar and wind resources, considering their variability. We use models from the specialized bibliography with the purpose of presenting a comparative study, and the data base is obtained from a meteorological station locate in Bogota, Colombia. For the solar variation, we consider especially two models, the linear regression by Angstrom-Prescott and the analysis of Bird and Hulstrom. In the estimation of wind energy, we used the Weibull model and the distribution of Rayleigh. Finally we present some results for each case using real data.
