Abstract
A histochemical study was made of biopsy specimens of skin and muscles of 10 children with dermatomyositis. While a destructive process was operative in the muscular tissue there was no conclusive evidence as to changes in the blood vessels of the muscles indicating the presence of collagen disease, i.e. of a systemic (diffuse) affection of the connective tissue.
