Abstract

Establishing neural markers, which can be successfully replicated across data sets and across analysis modalities is a major goal of translational neuropsychiatry research. Despite advancements in the field of neuroimaging, pace of discovery for replicable biomarkers has been remarkably slow in the context of psychiatric disorders including schizophrenia. In this chapter, we review task and resting-state functional MRI data acquisition methods, various data processing strategies with an emphasis on data quality assurance, and suggest some advanced topics that may aid clinical translation.
