Abstract

Differential Evolution (DE), a vector population based stochastic optimization method has been introduced to the public in 1995. During the last 10 years research on and with DE has reached an impressive state, yet there are still many open questions, and new application areas are emerging. This chapter introduces some of the current trends in DE-research and touches upon the problems that are still waiting to be solved. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
