Abstract

In this contribution we present the results of a project that investigates the mathematical qualifications a mechanical engineer needs for working on practical tasks in his daily life. In particular, we report on the results concerning a mechanism design task where certain machine parts have to be moved in order to realize a cutting activity. © 2010 Springer Science+Business Media B.V.
