Abstract

Circulation service is the front line in achieving library objective which is to fulfill user's needs through information resources available in library. Based on the statement, this research is intended to know how success of Gadjah Mada University/GMU Library is in playing its role and function to fulfill the information needs of users. User's attitude on the circulation service is that may be negative or positive. There are three components which support each other in attitude building i.e. cognitive, affective, and behavior. The research aims to: 1) to find out user's attitude on the circulation service of Unit 2, Gadjah Mada University Library 2) to find out attitude differences based on gender, age, and scientific-social sciences on the circulation service of Unit 2, Gadjah Mada University Library. The research was held at Unit2 GMU Library and took sample of 100 respondents of graduate students that were registered as GMU Library members. Analysis method that was used in the research was descriptive quantitative with a statistic method. Analysis and hypotheses testing used Oneway Anova. The conclusions of the research showed that: users attitude on the circulation services were good and fairly good. There were no attitude differences on the circulation service based on gender and age. There were significant attitude differences between scientific students and non scientific (social) students on the circulation service. Keywords : library users, user's attitude, circulation
