Abstract

The demand for tool support for distributed Java programming is increasing. A universal, open interface between tools and a monitoring system, On-line Monitoring Interface Specification (OMIS), allows to extend the functionality of the OMIS Compliant Monitoring system (OCM) for building a Java oriented monitoring infrastructure which provides all indispensable functions for diverse kinds of tools. The paper presents an approach to dealing with the target Java system in terms of the event model established in the J-OCM. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2004.
