Abstract

The budget in a research proposal is a documentation of the projected cost of conducting your research study. The development of a research proposal budget is interdependent with the development of the project's research design and methodology and timeline. You will need to develop a detailed breakdown of costs of the project to submit to your institutional grants office and as part of your research proposal to the potential funding agency. In preparing the budget, you should seek extensive assistance from the office of sponsored project administration of your institution, and other researchers experienced in developing and managing budgets. This chapter provides steps to guide you to finalize the budget and justification for your project. © 2011 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC.
