A generalized poincaré index formula

Abstract

A generalization of the Poincaré-Hopf index theorem is proved which expresses the fixed point index of an open subflow as an alternating sum over the Euler characteristics of a sequence of sets induced by the exit set. © 1995 Academic Press, Inc.
