Product identification, information and graphics on glass, plastic and metal containers can be achieved via labels preprinted onto a label stock or by printing directly onto the container. With both methods, printing can be offset, letterpress, rotogravure, flexography (using rubber or plastic plates) or silk-screening. Labels are usually in wrap-around or spot formats. With spot labels, primary labels carry brand name, logo, generic description and often size, ingredient and other data. Secondary labels can offer instructional and promotional copy or pricing information.
