The ability of the drilling mud to lift the cuttings needs to be considered, to minimize the occurrence of drilling problems, such as drill string stuck because of the accumulation of cuttings around the drill string. One of the important parameters that need to be considered in the drilling mud is the Lifting Capacity, to ensure that cutting properly carried out of the well by mud. In this research, to obtain the Lifting Capacity, the calculation of the drilling mud velocity in the Annulus and the cutting speed of drilling was carried out. From the calculation of the drilling mud velocity and cutting slip velocity, it is found that the drilling mud speed is greater than the cutting down speed (slip), which indicates that the drilling mud fluid has succeeded in lifting the drilling cutting. The success of the cutting lifting process is supported by the results obtained from the Lifting Capacity value with a success rate of 91% to 92.346%. The results of this high success rate are influenced by several factors, such as the density of the drilling fluid, the viscosity of the drilling fluid, the type of fluid flow, the size of the annulus hole, the velocity of the annulus hole, and the shape and size of the cutting.
