Abstract

The healthcare industry is constantly growing and changing to keep up with the rising demand for treatment and technological improvements to treatment. With this growth and new technology comes a similar rise in costs. In order for healthcare systems to stay in the green they must constantly seek new ways to save money and better treat patients in an efficient manner. One of the tools the healthcare industry has chosen to lean on in order to facilitate this need is healthcare ERPs. The challenge of implementing ERP is tremendous. Many critical factors contribute to the success or demise of as a successful implementation. In order for these ERP systems to be effective however, end users must be willing and able to utilize the system as designed in an efficient manner. As such user acceptance is a key component in implementation success and healthcare IT needs to keep this at the forefront of their thoughts throughout the implementation process. User acceptance will increase through adequate training. Through research we have developed the Training Intensiveness Model. We propose this model will benefit other researchers and practitioners alike through its simplicity and ease of use.
