Abstract

Collaboration relationship is one of the important factors to promote knowledge production and communication. Because the modeling method is insufficient, the existing collaboration network models could simulate only a part of indexes, but not all characteristics of the network of this type. In this paper, a new evolution model of collaboration network based on the scale-free network is built, in which nodes are abstracted from authors with some attributes. According to existing research results, we enrich the interactive rules of this model. Then in the simulation we compare our model with the empirical data from CiteseerX database and the Motif emerging model. It shows that the statistical characteristics and evolution characteristics of our model conforms to the actual situation better, which proves the feasibility of the new model. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
