Abstract

The number of edges An, the length ln and the surface Fn of the convex hull of n independent, identically distributed random points in the plane are considered under the assumption of rotational symmetry. The asymptotic behaviour of the expectations E(An), E(ln) and E(Fn) is studied according to the behaviour of the function Pr( {Mathematical expression} as x → 1 (distributions on the unit disc) or x→∞ (distributions on the whole plane). © 1970 Springer-Verlag.
