In Chap. 3, we saw that a wide variety of family types exist in our country. Although single person households make up the largest group of Belgian families, many families consist of two partners who may or may not be married. It goes without saying that before two partners come together to form a family, they must first meet. In this chapter, we look at how Belgian couples are formed. We will start by addressing the question of how the partners first met.
