The presence of acidosis, coagulopathy and hypothermia in a patient victim of trauma, is usually known as the triad of death. The components of this triad are interconnected as the way of a vicious circle, where the presence of any of them, constitutes a risk factor for the development and exacerbation of the other elements, which together confer a high risk of mortality for patients. For management exists in the surgical field a damage control surgery, which consist in a abbreviated surgical procedure to control active bleeding and prevent tissues contamination, followed by the correction of altered physiological parameters, and finally, make a meticulous surgical repair, thus preventing the permanency of the triad of death in the patient.
