Abstract

Water is one of the most essential natural resources for sustaining life and it is likely to become critically scarce in the coming decades, due to continuous increase in its demand, rapid increase in population, and expanding economy of the country. Herein provides a brief ideas about treatment of polluted water and adsorbents used for water treatment. It also gives introduction about biopolymers: cellulose, chitin, chitosan, and starch; their isolation; and detailed review of literature.
