Abstract

The change in inverse dielectric susceptibility (χ-1) associated with the phase transition is related to the hard-mode frequency shift (ωQ) as Δ(χ-1) = Rω Q2, where the proportionality constant R of the equation can be determined from the experimental data. This relation of Δ(χ-1) = RωQ2 between the changes in χ-1 and ωQ was verified for the antiferroelectric phase transition observed in 0.94PYN [Pb(Yb1/2Nb1/2)O3]-0.06PT[PbTiO3]. © 2006 IOP Publishing Ltd.
