Abstract

The National Transplant Pregnancy Registry (NTPR) was established in 1991 to study outcomes of pregnancy after transplantation, including female recipients who have had pregnancies including those pregnancies fathered by male transplant recipients. The NTPR collects data regarding pregnancy outcomes in all types of solid-organ transplant recipients, of which the kidney cohort is the largest. Eligible participants are identified to the NTPR by their healthcare providers, or they may self-enroll. The study is IRB-approved, and the informed consent allows for interviews with the recipients and their healthcare providers, as well as review of parent and child medical records. Data collected include health and medication history, transplant information, pregnancy outcome, and postpartum data. Long-term periodic follow-up of maternal and child health is also conducted.
