Abstract

The article offers information on the themes that emerged as part of an Octavian roundtable discussion at the Association of Rhetoric of Science and Technologies' (ARST) 2013 Vicentennial preconference. Topics of discussion were synthetic biology and internet-enabled citizen science, genre study and public argument. The symposium featured several rhetorical critic and theorists including John Angus Campbell, Leah Ceccarelli and David Depew.
