Abstract

What proportion of Swiss legislation is influenced by the European Union? This question represented the essence of a parliamentary intervention in 2006 that set out to establish an official and systematic identification of Europeanized domestic legislative acts. The Government dismissed this proposal and admitted that such information was not available.4 This chapter investigates this question by under- taking an exploratory quantitative assessment of the Europeanization of Swiss legislative production during the period 1987–2007.
