Abstract

This chapter will examine attitudes regarding social responsibility and accountability as it relates to the constructs of critical race theory (CRT). The chapter will attempt to investigate business literature aligned with social responsibility as well as accountability of student (athletes) and stakeholders, and will assist in gaining a better understanding of the challenges of black students and the roles of key stakeholders within institutions of higher learning. Although economic and fiscal policies focused on black athletics rise, many do not address many of the social and economic issues that many of the recruited minority athletes face.
