The profunda femoris artery is a branch of the common femoral artery that is responsible for blood supply to the thigh. In cases for femoropopliteal occlusive disease, the profunda femoris becomes the main source of collateral blood flow to the distal lower extremity and of key importance in limb salvage. This chapters aims to provide knowledge of the anatomy of the profunda femoris artery, the natural history of disease related to this vessel, indication for interventions, technical aspects of various interventions, and a review of the literature to date on profundaplasty.
