Abstract

The main goal of this study is to evaluate the applicability of drone usage and their respective sensors in coffee growing for a producing region in the centre of Colombia, which can be extrapolated and comparable to other zones in the country. This project aims to analyse the products obtained with RGB and multispectral sensors, evaluating the utility they may have for coffee growers in their regular work over the year. The first analysis is focused on the development of orthophotomaps, digital elevation models and derived products. Secondly, the analysis of flight planning over precipitous zones with important gradients has allowed to select which the most suitable configuration based on several flights at different heights and data acquisition conditions. The results of multispectral imaging obtained data with the different bands, showed vegetation indexes and false colour imagery, from various campaigns on separate days. The objective of this part of the study is to also suggest a method to obtain an approximate value of the production of each smallholding.
