Abstract

There exists a pressing need for the fruits of research into interface design for older adults to be made available to the wider design community. Older people form a special user group as a result of age related capability changes, who cannot easily participate in User Centred Design activities. Interface designers must take this into account. This paper introduces patterns as a solution for passing on successful design for older adults. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2004.
