Abstract

Cecal homogenates were assayed for the enzymes β-glucosidase, β- glucuronidase, and β-galactosidase. Anaerobic incubation with the addition of excess 3,4-dichloronitrobenzene, a substrate for nitroreductase, significantly increased the detection of the β-glycosidase enzymes' activities.
