Abstract

En este artículo se postula la necesidad de cambiar el paradigma de competencias requeridas por el director, que se caracteriza por un liderazgo individualista como proceso de infl uencia del líder hacia sus seguidores, por un paradigma que se enfoque en prácticas que involucran tanto al director como a su equipo en las diferentes áreas de gestión. Para ello se realiza una revisión del contexto actual de las organizaciones educativas que se caracterizan por su dinamismo y su complejidad. Asimismo, se revisan la literatura sobre liderazgo en los contextos educacionales y las principales difi cultades teóricas encontradas. liderazgo / instituciones educativas / prácticas de liderazgo Leadership in educational organizations In this essay we argue for the need of a change of the current paradigm of competencies required by a school principal that is characterized by an individualistic leadership conceived as a process of the leader´s infl uence on others into a paradigm that is focused more in practices that involve the principal and her team in the various areas of infl uence. To this end we revise the present context of educational organizations that are characterized by their dynamism and complexity. We review the relevant literature on leadership in the educational milieu as well as theoretical problems encountered. leadership / educational institutions / leadership practices
