Abstract

In view of the present low efficiency of error measurement of non-circular gear, and the complicated problem of measuring operation, the measurement device of double-flank engagement is designed. The system which is used to measure composite error of pitch curve of non-circular gear is developed based on mixed programming of C++ and MATLAB. The system can observe the real-time measurement data of sensors and can be used to process the test data to obtain the errors automatically, so the efficiency and precision of measurement is greatly improved. The error of pitch curve is obtained through measuring elliptic gear, which verifies the device’s feasibility on the principle and algorithm of measurement. The paper provides an efficient and feasible method for the automatic measurement of the error of pitch curve of non-circular gear.
