Numerous studies have shown that inadequate oxygen management may be injurious to patient's health. According to oxygen saturation measurements the oxygen supply must be increased or decreased (FiO2). This paper shows the development of a self-regulating device support with visual interface, that according to the desired parameters set, will accurately deliver the minimum oxygen amount required that the patient needs. The control system is based on the fuzzy logic theory implemented in a microcontroller. Oxymetry was used to obtain the patient saturation data. The developed instrument allows medical staff to have a device that automatically controls the concentration provided reducing the incidence of diseases such as Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP). © 2013 Springer.
