Abstract

The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is not only lymphocytic but also neurotropic. Brain lesions in AIDS patients result from HIV infection, opportunistic infection or malignant tumor. Accurate and early diagnosis is important because the treatment and prognosis for these diseases are quite different. MRI is useful in differential diagnosis of these diseases and in evaluation after therapy.
