The development of unobtrusive monitoring has become a major research topic. "Aging in place" is becoming common for the elderly who want to live in society. Unobtrusive monitoring devices are one solution for improving quality of life. However, few commercial products have been marketed. This paper examines the problems and further development of unobtrusive monitoring. Physicians need to understand the main problems with this concept and to create more in-home uses.
