Despite the extensive research on the variability of entrepreneurial success across countries, variations among nations have not been adequately clarified by conventional economic and political approaches. In this chapter, the authors have discussed entrepreneurship and culture from the perspective of challenges and opportunities in two distinctive countries Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. The methodological approach of this chapter adopted desk research: collecting data from existing sources. Desk research was applied here to use existing data, as opposed to primary research that researchers collect directly or using third-party agencies. Using Hofstede’s six dimensions of national culture model, the chapter compares both Bangladeshi and Sri Lankan culture in order to highlight challenges and opportunities for entrepreneurship. Insights of this chapter may enlighten policy makers and government agencies to mitigate challenges and capitalise on the opportunities to leverage entrepreneurship activities.
