This study aims to find out how the strategic efforts to prevent the rampant drug trafficking, especially in the Class IIB Kayuagung Prison. This study uses a qualitative method approach with data collection techniques using primary data sources obtained through direct field observations and interviews with several informants in prisons, namely the KPLP section and the KAMTIB section. Secondary data was obtained from a document study in the form of a BAP letter related to drug use in prisons. Data analysis uses a SWOT analysis to see strategic environmental factors, namely strengths and weaknesses (SW) (internal) and opportunities and threats (OT) (external) in the Class IIB Kayuagung Prison. The results show that the IFAS calculation result is 0.02 with a strength score of 1.58 and a weakness of 1.6. Whereas, for the EFAS value, the result is-0.022 with an opportunity score of 1.38 and a threat score of 1.6. So that the right strategy lies in Quadrant IV, namely the Diversification Strategy where in facing the many threats that exist, the Class IIB Kayuagung Prison is able to prevent drug trafficking by optimizing existing strengths. Therefore, strategic efforts that can be carried out are by increasing supervision of officers' performance, carrying out routine block control, maintaining the maintenance and care of prison buildings, and increasing cooperation with the TNI/POLRI/BNN.
