Abstract

This paper is concerned with the stability of weighted multiple model adaptive control (WMMAC) system, which is a long-standing issue in the field of robust adaptive control. First, a new weighting algorithm is proposed with assured convergence under smooth conditions. Second, based on virtual equivalent system methodology, the stability results of WMMAC system for both linear time-invariant (LTI) and parameter jump linear plants are presented. The analysis method is independent of specific local control strategy and specific weighting algorithm.
