This chapter examines strategies to strengthen and respond to climate change adaptive mechanisms applied to sustain food security in Africa. Climate change is one of the greatest challenges affecting Africa today. It is one of the most vulnerable continents to climate variability and change because of multiple stresses and low adaptive capacity. The methodology used is a desk review of related literature from journals, text books and other publications from different libraries and on the internet. It is crucial to establish task forces on food security in each major country and regional bodies to coordinate policy and adaptive strategies for sustainable development.
