Abstract

CO2 laser ablative resurfacing significantly rejuvenates aged facial skin, but the burn-related post-operative symptoms take many weeks to recover from and treatment is not complication-free [1]. The CO2 fractional mode, offered as an alternative for full ablative resurfacing, shortens recovery time, and this treatment approach produces milder post-operative symptoms and has fewer complications, and additionally, patients do not require a long period of downtime from work [2].
