Abstract

The present paper proposes to frame the analysis of the recreational boating tourism system for the coastal area of Croatia through an analysis of the system of ports and marinas, focusing on the implementation of sustainable development strategies from an environmental perspective by implementing the concept of “green ports” through the investigation of spatial components, energy management, water and waste management. Nautical tourism represents an extremely central component to the economy of coastal areas, which is why this contribution is structured through an initial overview of the marinas present in the area, the services offered, and tourist flows, focusing subsequently on the infrastructural aspects related to the energy and environmental efficiency of different port systems.
