Abstract

The paper presents a formal model of heterogeneous sensor network and crucial parts of its simulation framework. The main goal of this work is to prepare a virtual environment in which the methods for knowledge acquisition from ubiquitous smart devices can be evaluated. The proposed model allows to freely define sensors and description of observed phenomena. Moreover, the simulation framework SenseSim allows to apply changes in devices’ behaviour by using macroprogramming. A core part of the simulator is an agent-based event-driven simulation library called DisSim.
