Interactive complications between the heart and kidney can result in cardiorenal syndrome. Similar to this, there is also an interaction between the function of the heart and liver as well as a broad spectrum of acute and chronic entities that affect both of these organs, recognized as cardiohepatic syndrome. This chapter seeks to highlight the role of heart failure as a cause of liver dysfunction, the role of liver cirrhosis and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease as a cause of cardiovascular disease and/or heart disease, and finally, chronic alcoholism and systemic disorders, such as hemochromatosis and amyloidosis, which may affect the function of both the heart and liver.
