Abstract

Considering the many movements in architecture dealing with the topic of nature, three common features can be observed: All movements and approaches relate to life and living organisms Search for form is (still) the most important issue There is considerable confusion in terminology between the disciplines of architecture and the life sciences, because architects have taken over terminology from life sciences for their work (metabolism, evolution, genetic design...). 247 As a result, the discussion of life sciences terminology ought to be the next step to clarify the matter.
