Abstract

In the present research paper, we have reported a series of new azo acidic dyes, which are synthesized by diazo coupling of 3-amino-4-methyl-benzoic acid with cresol and different substituted naphthols. The synthesized dyes are characterized by various techniques like UV-Vis absorption spectral, IR spectral,1H NMR spectral, and Mass spectrometric methods. The electrochemical behavior of different azo dyes was studied in the sulphuric acid medium using cyclic voltammetry. Finally, the synthesized azo dyes are subjected to primary investigation of antimicrobial activity against a common fungus Fusareumoxysporum and bacteria P-aureus and S.-aureus.
