Abstract

Recently, because life and property loss due to car accidents, the blackbox to use airplanes installed in-vehicle. existing vehicle blackboxs stored only external video and image. if car accident, the driver is not known vehicle running condition. to know the status of the vehicle, in-vehicle mount sensors for various measurement and control. these sensor is controlled by ECU(Electronic Control Unit) and communicate through the in-vehicle network. In-vehicle network is control network, multimedia network. control network use OBD-II(On-board diagnostics) protocol on all vehicles since 2006 and multimedia network use MOST(Media Oriented System Transport) protocol for communication between ECUs. To use OBD-II, MOST protocol, drivers use data of blackbox to occur many driving data by many ECU of vehicle. So, driver can get more definite information than the existing black box. in this paper, to complement problem of existing blackbox to store external video and image, there implement blackbox system to use MOST network and OBD-II network. so, the blackbox provide the current status and information of the vehicle. blackbox system consist of CAM for image acquisition, GPS for time and position information acquisition, OBD-II for receiving vehicle running data, MOST interface card for receiving multimedia data. using Visual C++, the blackbox operate each sensor and module to receive the data portion. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
