Abstract

This contribution aims to present the first results of a work of digitization of the physical model representing the Citadel of Turin, preserved at the National Historical Artillery Museum of Turin. The aim is to constitute the appropriate digital supports useful for a more agile comparison with archival and historical sources, for the production of graphic elaborations that highlight the relationship between the conformation of the historical city and the current city and, last but not least, to organize materials that can constitute the support (implementable) for the creation of virtual museum itineraries. Based on the studies carried out in recent years on this specific topic, the research group is trying to identify the best strategies to be applied locally to improve and make accessible through the network the numerous models, at various scales, that describe the fortified city of Turin and some parts of it.
