Abstract

The article presents an essay on the significance of library cataloging and online catalogs to the attainment of knowledge among students in the U.S. The associate librarian for library services at the Library of Congress, Deanna Marcum, is impressed by how undergraduate students favor digital resources over the online library catalog because of easy access. The background of online cataloging was traced back with reconsiderations on missed opportunities and reassessment of merits.
