Abstract

The paper presents an analysis of the possibilities of extension, adaptation and development of the existing machine park, used in educational and training centers, to the Industry 4.0 concept. The concept of the adaptation and extension of the CNC machine tools to the production nest in accordance with the Industry 4.0 concept was discussed. An analysis of the development possibilities of the educational and training centers in the areas of manufacturing technology, robotics, measuring techniques and IT was carried out. An algorithm, allowing the optimization of the functional extension process of numerically controlled machine tools was proposed. A case study was shown for the extension of the MiniMill2 milling center used in the Haas Technical Educational Center at the Cracow University of Technology.
