Abstract

Imaging plays an integral and diverse role in the investigation and management of patients with gynecological disorders. Noninvasive imaging techniques offer the gynecologist important additional information as an adjunct to clinical examination. The imaging modalities discussed in this chapter are ultrasound (US), computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and positron emission tomography (PET). Strengths and limitations of these different techniques and their optimal application in assessment of ovarian and adnexal lesions will be highlighted.
