Abstract

The CONTRACT is an engaging, teaching computer game for the oldest students at the elementary school level. The Danish elementary schools use too much energy on heat and electricity. The CONTRACT deals with changing this. The starting point of the game is a simulation of the students own school and through analysis of the building, strategic choices and solving educational problems the pupils compete to make the school more energy efficient and environmentally friendly, and to emerge as winners of the game. The game is fully developed and has successfully been tested at three test schools.
