Abstract

The possible applications of highly-nonlinear fibers to all-optical signal processing are described. Ultra-broad band/ultra-fast optical signal processings using four-wave mixer, cross-phase modulation-based nonlinear optical loop mirror and supercontinuum generation are successfully demonstrated.
