Abstract

The research identifies and analyzes the main academic trends developed on the use of smart ports in the last decade. The PRISMA bibliographic review methodology is used for literature on publications indexed in Scopus and others anchored in SJR. Sustainability, information technologies, and infrastructure were taken as variables for the use of smart ports for supply chain management. As a main result, it was identified that the three variables add value, competitiveness, and efficiency in managing the microgrid system for the reinvention of the maritime supply chain, transforming it into a solid connection in the fourth industrial revolution. Future research should analyze the development of smart ports, exploring the digitization of supply chains and the implementation of public policies to improve regional port infrastructure.
